Welcome to my new blog...
The purpose of this online interactive devise it to promote and facilitate the sharing of educational ideas between educators that may never meet face-to-face. It has become readily apparent in recent years that the educational system of the United States must evolve to meet the needs of a 20th century student body. It is my hope that you will use this forum to discuss your successes and failures in the classroom in a comfortable, constructive environment. As fellow educators we can combine our efforts and ideas to become BETTER.
As this blog is brand new it will take me some time to organize and arrange its use, but please feel free to post lessons, methodologies, strategies, activities or classroom management tactics that you feel would benefit others.

Content Expectations for YOU!!!
1. This blog is open to the general public. Please do not use real names when referring to teachers, students or administration.
2. Our primary goal is to give constructive criticism to fellow educators to improve our practices in the classroom, share ideas for lessons or classroom management techniques, and give concrete ideas for improving the culture of our educational institutions.
3. Our secondary goal is to highlight and discuss modern ideas in educational instruction. Whether these ideas are focused on the student, educator, administrator or institution, they can impact our actions and decisions in the classroom.
3. All ideas are welcome as long as they are not offensive to ethnicity, faith, political affiliation, sexual preference, socioeconimic standing or alternative lifestyles.

- This is my sixth year of teaching high school science. I am currently teaching five sections of Biology at a suburban high school, but my first assingment was in alternative education. As such, I am typically given students that bring a certain amount of "baggage" with them to class. My educational philosophy and practice has evolved over the past several years and the next step in my own personal growth could be facilitated through collaboration with peers. As a current Masters student, I developed the idea of building a collaborative blog for educators and this is the first attempt I have made to reach out on the web.
